This Summer's Fungi Finds
In August, our annual Mushroom Forays brought groups into the fantastic world of fungi found in the forests around Lake of Bays. Come along as we share some of their amazing finds.

Bondi Trail
Along a short stretch of trail, the group spotted an impressive 50 species, plus three more identified to genus.

Sherborne Lake
A week later, participants in the second foray found 70 identified species, four identified to genus, and about a dozen mystery mushrooms that couldn’t be identified.

Thank You
A big thank you to Mark McLean for leading both outings, and to everyone who came out to explore mushrooms with us. We’re also grateful to Katharine and Krista for capturing the day in photos, and to Shirley for carrying the collection basket at Bondi Trail.

Did You Know?
The Mushroom Forays are two of five nature programs offered by the Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation each spring and summer. Our volunteers make these programs possible.
